Nakhla Zaglhoul

ive heard about this nakhla varient that you put coals directly on it. its called zaglhoul its unflavored and very dry.

i am very intrieged to try this has anyone tried this stuff?

hey if anyone has tried it how long dose ti smoke campared to regular shisha i think it would smoke twice as fast

Ya..i even serve the stuff..we call it brown death.

An original Tangiers bowl with an over loaded bowl goes about 30 minutes max.

Imagine inhaleing a cheap dark cigar.

You want soemthing stronger try Moussal Saloum...thats black death.

Yeah zaglhoul is dangerous stuff even for someone who smoke Tangier's on a daily basis....

You suposed to do it without foil its very tradional

also i think you dhould use a hose you dont love because i imagine this would leave an unremovable aftertaste in the hose itself Edited December 28, 2008 by Fluffy

Yeah this is true, it'll taint a hose for life, and yes you smoke this without foil. I wouldn't worry so much about how many grams in the bowl fluffy, just pile it in there and make a nice heaping pile of it about 3/4"-1" above the edge of the bowl.

tangier bowl holds about 40 grams.

I have special hoses for the stuff.

Like I said before don't try and judge how much zaghloul you'll use based on your normal bowl size. Mostly because you really heap the stuff on top so you'll prolly be using more like 25-30g. If I remember right with tombak you need to mix it with a small quantity of water before you smoke but I would wait for mush to step in and give ya the real lowdown on it.

I always add a little bit of honey to Zag and I smoke it with foil. My preferred way is to mix Zag with a shisha flavor such as vanilla, chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, or honey as well. I have smoked it a few times without adding anything to it and without foil and I didn't really enjoy it. If you smoke without foil you should do it outside because this stuff will stink up the room you are smoking in.

Make a visit to the middle east and see for yourself, they all put the coals directly on top. And every Middle Easter person I've ever served in the hookah bars I've worked at that's ordered Zaghloul wants it that way.

Yep in little egypt in Astoria they serve Shisha that way, I wouldnt be surprised if its Zaghloul

Do you mean Al Ajamy? Like on HookahCompany? You smoke that regularly, with foil. It actually is probably the single best fruit flavored tobacco available, very realistic and strong.
